2017 marks 40 years of CCAHA. Every Friday, we'll share the articles, photos, and recollections that tell the story of how CCAHA became a world-renowned leader in conservation science.

This 1998 article from the Philadelphia Inquirer describes the conservation work being done in Philadelphia by profiling CCAHA, a bookbinder in private practice, and the American Philosophical Society.

The recent treatments at CCAHA ranged from reconstructing a 200-page, handwritten book accidentally sent through a shredder, rebacking a 1608 bible belonging to a Huguenot family, and rehousing handwritten drafts of Charles Dickens’ The Pickwick Papers and Nicholas Nickleby
