The Conservation Center for Art & Historic Artifacts (CCAHA), a non-profit conservation laboratory located in Philadelphia, seeks a full-time candidate to perform registrarial functions, prepare objects for transit, and maintain vault organization. The Registrar will assist in the development and implementation of procedures that will ensure the physical care and security of historic objects and art works that CCAHA receives for conservation treatment. Responsibilities will include recordkeeping using project management software, creation of temporary storage and shipping enclosures, client communications, and transportation arrangements for artifacts—with occasional courier and local travel opportunities. A high degree of manual dexterity, the ability to handle fragile artifacts, and computer skills are necessary. This position will report to the Director of Administration & Operations and the Director of Conservation. The Registrar works with administrative and lab staff in a collaborative environment. 

Requirements for this position include: B.A. in museum studies, art history, or related field; object handling experience; and knowledge of museum registration methods and collections care practices. Also required are strong organizational skills, precision, the ability to work effectively as part of a team, ability to lift up to 50lbs, have a valid driver’s license, and excellent communication and customer service skills.
