Ashley Stanford
Ashley Stanford (she/her) is currently serving as the Associate Conservator & Studio Manager of CCAHA’s NYC satellite office. A graduate of the Winterthur/University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation (WUDPAC), she specializes in the conservation of photographic materials with a minor in paper conservation.
Ashley’s technical expertise spans the history of the medium, from 19th-century daguerreotypes and salted paper prints to contemporary inkjet processes. She has a diverse professional background, including positions at major institutions such as an Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), and internships at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and the Menil Drawing Institute. These experiences are complemented by work in private studios, including The Better Image and Gawain Weaver Art Conservation. Through these roles, she has developed a strong ability to work directly with clients to meet their specific preservation needs while navigating the complexities of large-scale museum exhibitions.
