Assistant to Preservation Services Department

CCAHA is seeking a full-time assistant to provide daily administrative support to the preservation services department at a busy nonprofit art conservation facility. Responsibilities include general clerical tasks, including triage of phone inquiries; assistance with mailings and correspondence; report preparation and production; assistance with educational programs including online promotion, managing online registrations, and the production of workshop materials.

DHPSNY Archives Specialist

CCAHA is seeking an Archives Specialist for our Documentary Heritage and Preservation Services for New York (DHPSNY) Program. Under the general guidance of the DHPSNY Program Manager, the DHPSNY Archives Specialist contributes to the mission of DHPSNY through implementation of educational programs, archival needs assessments, outreach, and information services to libraries, archives, museums, historical societies, and other organizations throughout New York State. This position is a part of a collaborative effort that makes it necessary to be highly engaged with the DHPSNY team.

Preventive Conservation Fellow

CCAHA seeks a Preventive Conservation Fellow.  This is a full-time, twelve month fellowship position starting September 1, 2019.  This position contributes to the mission of CCAHA through implementation of surveys, educational programs, outreach, and information services to libraries, archives, museums, historical societies, and other organizations and individuals.

Director of Conservation

CCAHA seeks a senior level conservator with specialization in paper, book, or photograph conservation to serve as the Director of Conservation for our laboratory in Philadelphia, PA.  The Director of Conservation will manage, maintain, develop and strengthen CCAHA’s conservation services while working externally to advance the Center’s position as a national leader in the documentation, treatment, and preservation of cultural heritage.  We seek a strategic thinker with a willingness to embrace innovation in advancing CCAHA’s goals and manage multiple priorities.

Fellowship in Paper Conservation

CCAHA is pleased to offer a twelve-month fellowship, with the possibility of renewal for a second year, in the conservation of works on paper beginning September 3, 2019.  The candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of paper-based materials, including works of art on paper, manuscripts, maps, archival materials, and parchments from numerous institutions and private clients.  The fellow will work with experienced conservators and technicians in a collaborative environment. The fellow may also have the opportunity to participate in on-site collection surveys, treatment projects, and educational programs.
