Director of Development, Rosenbach Museum & Library

Bethany Chisholm serves as the Director of Development at the Rosenbach Museum & Library, a rare book library and museum located in the heart of Rittenhouse Square. Bethany was promoted to Assistant Director of Development in 2020 and led The Rosenbach’s fundraising through the tumultuous early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, helping the organization exceed its financial goals. Simultaneously, Bethany spearheaded The Rosenbach’s new Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion Committee, formalizing institutional DEAI commitments for the Board of Directors, staff, and programming. In March 2021, Bethany founded the Young Friends of The Rosenbach Committee to continue expanding the organization’s audience, scope, and accessibility. Bethany joined the Rosenbach as its Manager of Events in 2019.

Bethany brings nearly a decade of fund development experience in Philadelphia nonprofits. She was most recently the Director of Development of the Philadelphia Parks Alliance and worked closely with humanities collections while she was the Manager of Annual Giving and Special Events at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania. She served as the president of Neighbors Investing in Childs Elementary, a volunteer group that fundraises for the Point Breeze public K-8 school, from 2020-2022. She also served as Development Chair and Vice President of Young Involved Philadelphia, a civic engagement nonprofit from 2014-2018.

Bethany is from the Greater Boston area and attended the University of Massachusetts Boston. She now lives in the East Falls neighborhood with her husband Justin and their many pets.
