Carl Kopfinger
Carl Kopfinger is a seasoned financial services professional with over 45 years of experience specializing in institutional fund-of-funds investing, venture debt lending, corporate finance, and business development. He retired in December 2024 as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of TD Bank’s Community Capital Group, where he managed over $700 million in SBIC investments and represented the bank on advisory boards for more than 45 SBIC fund families. Throughout his career, Carl held leadership roles at prominent institutions, including TD Bank, FleetBoston Financial (now Bank of America), Comerica Bank, Bank Hapoalim, PNC Bank, and Mellon Bank, managing multi-million-dollar portfolios and fostering key business relationships. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from DeSales University and completed Mellon Bank’s Commercial Credit Training Program. Carl is currently an Advisory Board member of the Delaware Nation Industries & Investments; he has also served on numerous boards, including the University City Science Center and the Small Business Investor Alliance; and was appointed Vice Chair of the SBA’s Investment Capital Advisory Committee from 2023 to 2025. A frequent speaker and mentor, Carl has made significant contributions to the financial industry and the development of small businesses across the United States.
