"You don't have to be special to use Special Collections!"

What can archives and special collections offer an “unaffiliated” and curious public? Join us for a webinar with Independent Historian and Writer Lucie Levine, for a discussion on how any interested person might make use of collections. Lucie is not affiliated with a University or Museum, yet spends her days in the archives of institutions around New York, researching the history of the city. Lucie founded Archive on Parade with the express intent of taking history “out of the archives and into the streets,” because history is the sum of all our stories; it includes all of us, and should be accessible to all of us. And, in many ways, it is. Though archival collections may appear to be sequestered behind institutional gates, you don’t have to be a professor or museum professional to access archival materials.

"You don't have to be special to use Special Collections!" was presented by the Conservation Center for Art & Historic Artifacts on April 26th, 2022 thanks to support from the National Endowment for the Humanities, with additional support from the William Penn Foundation and Independence Foundation.
