About the Speaker:

Melanie Bump, Curator of Collections and Exhibits, Morris County Park Commission

Melanie Bump has worked in the museum field for over 17 years and has been in her current role as the Curator of Collections and Exhibits for the Morris County Park Commission (MCPC) since October 2014. As Curator, she oversees the management of the MCPC's over 50,000 artifacts and curates exhibits at historic sites, including Cooper Grist Mill, Fosterfields Living Historical Farm, and Historic Speedwell, Morristown, NJ. In 2018 she became the Project Manager for the Sustainable Collections Management of Collections Environments with Limited Controls, overseeing environmental monitoring, preservation management, and strategizing solutions to improve collections storage conditions across 36 structures. Mrs. Bump is a member of the New Jersey Association of Museums Collections Committee and was on the Graphics Design team as part of the Telling Untold Histories Unconference Planning Committee. Melanie graduated with a Masters in Museum Professions from Seton Hall University (2014) and Fine Art degree from William Patterson University and California State University at San Bernardino (2005).
